In 2014, we started a medical marijuana delivery business in Orange County, CA called Papa Ganja. The vision for this delivery business was to provide safe access to lab-tested marijuana products for adult medical uses. Over time, the business created a solid customer base that helped many people experience marijuana and its many benefits for the first time, or at least for the first time in a professional, discreet way. The delivery business continued fruitfully as everyone awaited new regulations for legal marijuana, which California residents voted to legalize.
Unfortunately, past Governor Jerry Brown left access regulations in the hands of local Supervisors prior to the State regulations being enacted. Most County Supervisors in California voted to ban marijuana dispensaries and marijuana delivery. Orange County’s City Supervisors also voted to ban cannabis businesses although these same cities residents voted to legalize and regulate cannabis. At that time, the decision was made to close Papa Ganja. We shifted our focus to promoting legal access to licensed marijuana dispensaries in the US, and provide educational marijuana content. The concept of Mama’s Ganja was born.
